WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RENTAL ITEM AT PEP, AND WHY?
My favorite rental item at PEP would have to be, well not one thing but all the custom pieces we fabricate here in house. I love that I can take an idea to the team and they can make it come to life!
IF IT WAS YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY, WHAT WOULD THE THEME BE, AND WHAT COLOR PALETTE AND PEP PROPS/DECOR WOULD YOU USE?
As someone who always says their favorite color is black, I have found my self leaning more towards the natural pallet and something that is a bit more organic than just straight black. I recently got married and picked a color pallet that included oranges, mauve, pink, terracotta and ivory. It was stunning.
TELL US YOUR BACKGROUND – WHAT’S YOUR STORY ABOUT GETTING INTO EVENTS, AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY & AT PEP?
TELL US ABOUT THE MOST UNIQUE EVENT THEME YOU’VE EVER WORKED ON.
I would definitely have to say Art Alive is the one of the most unique events that I work on. Every year it has a new artistic theme with undertones of a featured piece of art work from their collection. It challenges me to be creative and think outside of the box on what I can do to make the theme come alive with my client.
WHAT’S THE HARDEST THING ABOUT EVENT PRODUCTION?
I would say the hardest part of event production is leaving a great party early because you must do it all again the next day! When we do get to stay and enjoy an event, we produce it is so hard to leave at the end of the night and do it all again the next day at 6am for a set up of the next amazing event!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN WHEN NOT WORKING?
I love spending time with my husband and our fur babies. I enjoy spending time with my family, my many nieces and nephews and reading!
I like to say my journey to PEP started in high school when I was the Commissioner of PEP Rally’s. I went to college at Cal State Fullerton, majoring in Communications, and I interned here at PEP with Joanne Mera. She also is my aunt, and she founded the business with her partners in 1991. I grew up with the cool aunt whose job always looked like the most fun and I wanted nothing more than to come and work along side her in this business. I got my foot in the door at PEP, for a paying job, in 2011 when I moved here from OC and became the receptionist. I slowly worked my way from that position to an Event Producer, then Sales Assistant, and then Sales Manager, and now I am running the Sales Department! Almost 15 years later and I cannot imagine doing anything else but planning amazing events, working with this amazing team and watching people enjoy the events we put on for them day after day!
